PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PHASE
PROGRAMME
Opportunities that make the heart beat faster!
Our fully funded, full time programme starts at 18 years old and works with talented footballers up to the age of 23.
Our Professional Development Phase is centred around players who may have been released as first or second years professionals or are disillusioned with the lack of meaningful opportunity and trying to find a way of being paid to play the game they love.
Throughout the time a player is with us the primary focus is to provide a first class education, outstanding opportunities through our professional club games programme, fantastic coaching and a pathway back into the eco-system of the professional game and working world.
In the professional development phase, players study the fantastic Athlete Professional development Programme, train full time, live onsite at the University of Derby and take part in a games programme that supports their personal development and provides outstanding exposure.
We are located at the University of Derby & St George's Park National Football Centre.
Our Professional Development Programme sees our ever evolving squad take on professional clubs at first team, U23 and U21 levels. We play between 8 and 16 showcase matches per season giving a player genuine and amazing experiences while they show key decision makers from the world of professional football what they are capable of.
As part of our programme we also represent the University of Derby as their first team. This provides [in our opinion] a match programme akin to Step 4/5 of the non league pyramid.
We hope to play 30 games per season as part of full time programme giving every player a truly full time training and games programme.

The programme in this phase is full time in every way and accommodation is available to make this an all encompassing experience with opportunity after opportunity waiting to be explored and enjoyed by talented footballers from around the UK.
Players have access to our support network and travel the UK/Eire & Scotland to play in showcase games versus professional clubs gaining valuable experience and exposure.
Players study through our partnership with the University of Derby and it isn't a normal, run of the mill study programme. The Athlete Professional Development course is a leading study programme that offers individuals the chance to study and train full time with the option to top up in a subject of their choosing to achieve a full degree.

This programme builds on our experience of working with aspiring athletes, and aims to provide a flexible learning environment targeted towards holistic life development, in addition to elite performance.

FREE TO ACCESS PROFESSIONAL STANDARD PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME HOSTED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DERBY.
PLAYERS MUST BE AGED 18 OR OVER ON 01 APRIL 2024. THEY MUST HAVE COMPLETED OR BE IN THE PROCESS OF COMPLETING ANY 16-19 COLLEGE PROGRAMME AND BE AVAILABLE FOR THE ENTIRETY OF MAY AND JUNE 2024.
