2019

ProChance is formed

Huddersfield Town B Team at Canalside, the training ground of Huddersfield Town set the tone for a relationship that still is still thriving today.

A game watched by a handful of professional club representatives plus a raft of key decision makers at Huddersfield Town made for a very memorable game. The first showcase match in ProChance history.

This day also marked the first ever player going on trial with a professional club [Huddersfield Town]

Left - Hans Mpongo. At just 16 Hans played in the very first showcase match in ProChance history. He later went on to sign with premier league club Brentford FC.

Covid-19

In March 2020 football was abruptly halted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

ProChance adopted a different way of supporting young players through the pandemic and became a place for players to talk.

Football did resume for 2020-21 but with a very different feel. To continue to provide opportunity we live streamed most if not all of our showcase matches and events due to matches being played behind closed doors.

Over 6,000 spectators tuned in to ProChance football YouTube channel to watch *TheUnsigned* take on the then Premier League outfit Sheffield United.

That day ProChance scored a wonderful goal which set the tone for how future squads at all age groups would play the game.

From this day alone a number of players went on trial as clubs with the most notable being centre back Ben Courtier who embarked on a 14 day trial with Premier League giants Leicester City.

A proud moment - The first FA interview

An amazing opportunity for ProChance to be featured on the FA website. A proud moment as the FA recognise the good work done by ProChance.

The FA interview Liam Sutcliffe on topics such as inspiring players, what it's like training and playing at St. George's Park and the inspiration SGP can give to a young player.

As ProChance developed its concept, it wouldn't be the last time we would feature on the FA's website.

30 days from the Gods

In the space of 30 days, ProChance players had the opportunities many can only dream of.

We played Huddersfield Town 18's, Crystal Palace at their new training ground 18/23's mix and it was capped off by playing the first team of Port Vale at Vale Park.

It doesn't get much better but that's the way we roll.

FA Youth Cup Success

Last Team in Leicestershire left in the FA Youth Cup 2022/23.

Playing under the Lutterworth Athletic banner, ProChance went on a dazzling run with much fun along the way.

Our experiences in our first FA Youth Cup run ended with ProChance being the last team from Leicestershire being left in the competition.

The run most certainly provided the players who participated with fond memories.

"Kids in Mens football"

Pilot Project Terminated

ProChance pioneered the process of playing all under 18 players in the mens game.

The project was dubbed "Kids in mens football"

Eventually, politics and the environment of mens football in the lower end of non league convinced everyone at ProChance that it shouldn't be the direction to take if we wanted to continue to provide opportunity to talented young footballers.

Liam Sutcliffe commented "The deal was if the environment provided learning and the process allowed for opportunity then it was worth it.

Playing at that level was no longer worth it especially as it became clear very little learning could be achieved was to be at the expense of opportunity for players"
